Evangelism
To invite people into a loving, life-giving relationship with God means we must take the first step and step outside our church. We can only carry out our mission by getting out of our comfort zone and get the message out to our community.
Our office staff is focused on getting the word out about St. Mark's events by utilizing social media. We use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to advertise church events. The staff and church leadership have also participated in several evangelical conferences such as Invite, Welcome, Connect at Camp Allen and at the St. Mark's Ministry Leaders Forum.
Our evangelism initiatives include:
- We have provided a prayer garden to walk the Stations of the Cross the entire week of Holy Week where the public could come and walk the path of Christ.
- Every year around September 16 we participate in "Invitation Sunday." The congregation is given preprinted invitations and encouraged to invite at least one friend or family member. We have many members that their first visit was because of an invitation they received.
- Each Lent we have fish fries that are promoted through signage and social media. St. Mark's is famous in the area for our fantastic fish dinners. We offer carry out, dine in and drive through service.
