St. Mark’s is located in Richmond, Texas, and its mission field is Fort Bend County, the tenth-most populous county in Texas with a population of over 870,200. The largest city in Fort Bend County is neighboring Sugar Land which is rapidly growing along with the fast-growing cities of Richmond and Rosenberg. St. Mark’s draws parishioners from these three cities as well as many smaller communities in Fort Bend County.

Fort Bend County is one of the best places in Texas to raise a family offering award-winning school systems, outstanding libraries, affordable housing, and world-class medical care offered by numerous hospitals, diagnostic centers, and physicians. The world-renowned Texas Medical Center is located 24 miles east of Richmond.

Sugar Land has been named one of the nation’s “Best Places to Live”, “Best Places to Raise a Family” and one of “America’s Best Places for Youth” to name a few of the city’s national accolades. In September 2022 Fortune magazinze ranked Sugar Land on the list of 25 best places to live in the U.S. for families. According to the 2020 census, Fort Bend is the most diversified county in Texas and third in the nation. In population growth, Fort Bend ranks 4th in the nation.

Colleges and universities in Fort Bend County include the University of Houston System at Sugar Land, Wharton County Junior College with campuses in both Sugar Land and Richmond, Texas State Technical College and Houston Community College System campuses.
