Prime Timers at Brookwood Community
Tour, Eat and Shop at the Brookwood Community
The Prime Timers will be visiting the Brookwood Community on Thursday, June 1 for a tour and lunch. As many of you know, the Brookwood Community is an amazing non-profit, God-centered community that provides work opportunities, social activities, and spiritual and emotional support for adults with functional disabilities.
Here is our plan:
You can go only for the walking tour, go only for lunch, or go for both tour and lunch. Barbara Scheibner will work with everyone to set up carpooling. Thank you in advance for providing Barbara with an RSVP at by Friday, May 26. Brookwood needs to know how many are arriving.
- The Tour: We will take an inspirational tour of the community to see the residents at their work and visit where they live and worship. We should arrive by 9:30a.m. The tour guide will show us a video, answer questions and then take us on a walking tour through the residential, handicrafts, activities and administration facilities, and then on to the horticulture enterprise.
- Lunch: Our group will do a “Dutch treat” lunch at The Café at Brookwood at 11:30a.m. You can download the café menu at www.brookwoodcommunity.org.
- Shop: There is “wow” shopping at the Brookwood Gift and Garden Center.
As with other Prime Timers programs, people of all ages are invited to participate in this event. We do not discriminate because of lack of years!
