Lunch and Tour at Christ Church Cathedral – Thursday, October 12
For over 170 years, a house of worship has stood on the corner of Texas and Fannin. Christ Church Cathedral was Houston’s first religious congregation and is the only one still worshiping on its original site from the days when Houston was the capital of the Republic of Texas. What rich history to explore through a tour! Besides the regular tour, our tour will be enriched by Bob Carington, our church member and retired architect, who will share with us the architectural history of our Cathedral.
We will be leaving St. Mark’s at 10:30a.m. on Thursday, October 12. We will have lunch before the tour at The Cloister Restaurant at the Cathedral. After our tour, we can shop at the Cathedral Bookstore or visit the Cloister Art Gallery.
Please let us know if you are joining in by contacting Barbara Scheibner by Sunday, October 8.
